Bluehost - the popular WordPress hosting provider - has unveiled a set of new ecommerce solutions to help simplify the process of launching an online store.

The new Bluehost Online Store combines the functionality of WordPress, WooCommerce and YITH plugins to give small businesses a simple 'point and click' solution to building functional ecommerce websites.

Webmasters be able to set up a payment gateway, sell across popular marketplaces, schedule calendar appointments, ship orders and print labels - all with no coding experience required. There are also extra features to add to an ecommerce website such as gift cards, customer wish lists, account pages and much more.

Following the acquisition of popular WordPress SEO plugin Yoast SEO last year by Bluehost's parent company Newfold, the new solution will also offer a full suite of SEO tools to help new ecommerce websites rank in search engines.

Bluehost Online Store - top features

So, what are the benefits of the new Bluehost Online Store for small business owners?

Easy creation of an online store

Bluehost have created an easy-to-use setup wizard to help you quickly build an ecommerce website. It features an easy-to-follow guide so that you can build a homepage, product page and 'About us' page in minutes.

The wizard can then take you through the process of setting up a payment gateway, inputting tax information, shipping details and product inventory.

Access to WooCommerce and exclusive YITH plugins

Bluehost's new Online Store plans also give you access to WooCommerce and YITH plugins - giving you all the functionality you need to personalise and optimise your new ecommerce website.

The plugins included provide extra functionality such as:

  • Payment Processing
  • Gift Cards
  • Appointment Bookings
  • Wish Lists
  • Shipping
  • Product Search/Filtering
  • Customer Account Creation

Sell products across multiple online marketplaces

There are two different plans available - 'Online Store' and 'Online Store + Marketplace'.

If you choose the latter you will be able to manage your inventory across multiple marketplaces such as Amazon, eBAY and Etsy from one centralised dashboard.

Free SSL certificate

As with all Bluehost WordPress hosting plans, new customers will be able to access a free SSL certificate and domain.

An SSL certificate is essential for your new ecommerce website to be secure and trustworthy.

Unveiling the new ecommerce hosting package, Ed Jay, President of Newfold Digital, the parent company of Bluehost and YITH said:

"We have so many customers around the world with unique needs and different levels of expertise building online stores.

"With the launch of Bluehost's new commerce solutions, our team is addressing the needs of small businesses looking for the flexibility and power of WordPress but want the experience of coming online and selling to be simple. The curated experience we are providing strikes the perfect balance of security, reliability, and functionality by taking the power of WordPress and putting it into the hands of users in a way that feels intuitive and native for each of our customers seeking to grow their businesses."
