SECockpit is a simple keyword research tool that will help you find profitable keywords for your niche in a matter of seconds.

It includes very impressive keyword analysis that will identify the most valuable keywords you should be focusing your efforts on.

SECockpit is a web-based tool, so you can use it on any operating system – Windows, Linux, Mac OS etc… and is compatible with all main browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera.

What does SECockpit do?

Finds you the best keywords – fast.

SECockpit is the fastest keyword research tool on the market, and claims to save you ‘hours upon hours’ of time.

Like almost every other keyword research tool, SECockpit brings in keyword data from the Google AdWords API – so you get all the search volume and competition data straight from the horse’s mouth.

It also scrapes the Google Suggest filter and the ‘related search terms’ feature to bring in even more useful keyword data for you – something that separates it from the rest of the keyword research tools out there.

The huge set of filtering options within SECockpit enables you to drill down to exactly what you are looking for. These options include a filter to find the best keywords to choose for AdSense (high traffic, low competition keywords in profitable niches), an option to quickly unearth the best keywords for your site in terms of levels of competition and lots more.

The keyword analysis features instantly provide valuable data for you to make the right decision without having to leave the SECockpit user-interface. The tool makes full use of third party APIs from the likes of Moz to put all the keyword data right where you need it.

It automatically analyses the pages that currently rank in the top 10 of Google for your chosen keywords – giving you instant access to competitor data.

As well as all the fantastic keyword research features, SECockpit also includes a campaign management module to help you keep track of your SEO campaign and manage all the disparate elements of it – not just keywords and on-page optimisation tools.

Starting a keyword search with SECockpit

SECockpit runs straight from your browser and is very easy to use.

To start a research project, simply click on the 'New Keyword Search' icon in the top left:

You can then add the 'seed keyword' that you want to research and specify the language and countries you want to include in your data.

Here you can toggle the keyword data sources you want to include in your research, choosing from Google Ads Synonyms (using the Google Ad Keyword Research Tool), Google Suggest Synonyms, Amazon Suggest Synonyms - great if you are researching keywords for specific products - YouTube Suggest Synonyms and Google Related Searches Synonyms.

SECockpit - add seed keyword

Once you've added the settings you want, SECockpit quickly produces your keyword research data for you to dig into.

The orange bar tells you how hard it is to rank for each keyword - the more full the bar is, the more competitive the keyword is.

You can double-click on the orange bar to actually see what websites are ranking in the top 10 of Google and key SEO metrics for each, such as Doman Authority, referring domains, number of backlinks and so on.

Who needs SECockpit?

Everyone involved in SEO should probably have a dedicated keyword research tool. A lot of all-in-one SEO tools offer keyword research in some form or another, but they don’t quite go to the depths you need.

SECockpit would therefore be a crucial part of your SEO toolset, and will enable you to quickly identify what keywords you should be targeting in your on-page optimisation efforts.

It’s not the only extensive keyword research tool out there, but it is certainly one of the best and is well worth having a trial with to see how you get on with it.

How much does SECockpit cost?

SECockpit has three different account levels:

  • Personal: $25 per month
  • Pro: $42 per month
  • Agency: $75 per month

All of the main keyword research features are available across the account levels, but access to the data is limited depending on what account type you opt for.

For instance, with the Personal account you can only run 10 keyword reports a day, whereas the Agency account allows you to run an unlimited amount.

The Pro and Agency accounts also provide access to SECockpit’s Rank Tracker tool.

Good points about SECockpit

There are two big aspects of SECockpit that make it well worth trying out: speed and functionality.

SECockpit is a cloud-based tool, so it can access a huge amount of processing power – which means all of its various API requests do not impinge on your time.

The functionality of SECockpit is also a big plus. You can pull in a huge amount of keywords based on your initial ‘seed’ keyword, thoroughly analyse them for effectiveness based on different criteria and filter them to create organised target lists.

Summary

All good SEO campaigns start with good keyword research. If you begin by picking the wrong keywords you can end up wasting a lot of valuable time and money.

SECockpit is a dedicated keyword research tool that will make sure all of your SEO campaigns start with the best possible keyword targeting in place.

It has a very intuitive user interface which, after testing all of the different filtering and analytical options, you will master in less than half an hour.

As it is browser-based and runs on the cloud it is also a very lightweight tool. There’s no lag and no waiting for processes to complete, which can be a drawback on a lot of similar tools.
